Mr. Nightingale's Diary

Mr. Nightingale's Diary
By Charles Dickens

I picked this show because it's really funny... that was it. The fact that Mystery of Edwin Drood, a show I despise, was the last show I worked on for A.C.T. had absolutely nothing to do with it. Sorry.. but I hate audience participation gags.

The Reverend Richard Hoard (Mr. Nightingale) and I first worked together on Measure for Measure and I was so happy to work with him again on Nightingale. Richard and I see eye to eye on so many levels that we could dispense with most of the B.S. surrounding community theatre and just skip ahead to really crafting our characters, working out the timing and tuning the show for our local audience - you know the stuff one really likes about community theatre.

Working with an entire family as talented as the Ralstons was also a real treat.
